South Wind Hospice has served Central and Western Kansas for 15 years. We were built on the premise of giving quality end-of-life care to anyone in need.
Hospice is a concept of care that affirms life and regards dying as a normal process. It emphasizes palliative rather than curative treatment—quality rather than quantity of life.It provides personalized services and a caring community so that patients and families can prepare for a death… and the lives that must go on.
Hospice has a team of specially trained professionals and volunteers who provide the emotional, spiritual, social, and physical care that is needed at the end of life. Following a death, bereavement care is provided to the family at no cost for a period of 18 months or longer if necessary.
We are here for patients and families.
Our new Hospice Home is a home-like setting for South Wind Hospice patients where they may receive inpatient, respite or residential care.
The home has 12 private patient rooms all with family rooms attached to them. Each room also has its own patio. Patient beds are able to go out onto the patio or into the courtyard so all patients can enjoy the outdoors.
The home also features a family kitchen, library, chapel, family rooms, kid play rooms, patient spa and family bath.
Patients are provided with three meals a day plus snacks. Laundry service is also available.
The home is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our staff is there to make sure that each patient’s needs are met.
